Sensible–Latent Decoupling

Sensible heat (temperature) and latent heat (moisture) load the system through different physical paths. ClimaNexus operates two coupled state machines so cooling capacity is never spent solving a humidity problem.

Humidity Control as a First Class State

Humidity control is an explicit, instrumented state in the control machine, with target RH bands, measured deviation, and re-evaluation each control cycle. It is not a side effect of cooling.

To deliver optimal comfort in hot-humid climates, ClimaNexus operates as an intelligent orchestration brain, shifting from single-reactive control to a model of decoupled and multi-objective coordination. This unfolds in four core steps grounded in our patents:

Decoupling

Step 01 · Independent load separation

Instead of using a single temperature reading to drive the air conditioner, the Edge Hub splits the room's demand into three independent processing channels.

  • Sensible load: drives the cooling coil or auxiliary heater based on the deviation between room temperature and setpoint.
  • Latent load: drives a dedicated dehumidifier from actual humidity and dewpoint, independent of how deep the air conditioner is running.
  • Ventilation (IAQ): prioritizes control of CO₂ and PM2.5 to deliver fresh air without unnecessarily disturbing the thermal balance.

Deterministic Logic

Step 02 · Parallel state-based execution

The system never runs overlapping commands. It classifies the environment into explicit Operating States with clear priority and timing rules.

  • IAQ_BOOST: activates when the air feels stuffy, prioritizing ventilation fans and VAV dampers.
  • DEHUM: activates when humidity exceeds the activation threshold, running the dehumidifier with timers that prevent the compressor from cycling on and off continuously.
  • HEAT_ASSIST: the most expensive state, auto-engages auxiliary heating when extended drying leaves the room too cool, keeping it comfortable yet dry.

Real-time Coordination

Step 03 · 500ms feedback loop

The ClimaNexus brain executes an ultra-fast feedback loop every 500ms (half a second), continuously re-reading the room and updating every device.

  • Conflict resolution: when two demands arise simultaneously (for example, fresh air and dehumidification), the orchestration algorithm prioritizes health (IAQ) first and humidity second, so devices play together like a coordinated orchestra.
  • Permission Gate: this is the final safety layer. Before any command reaches the auxiliary heater or dehumidifier, the system must verify Airflow proof, ensuring absolute safety and efficient heat exchange.

AI Optimization

Step 04 · Cloud advisor, never commands

The cloud AI layer never intervenes directly in machine commands. It acts as a quiet advisor that refines control parameters, learning each room's individual behavior.

  • Thermal and humidity inertia learning: the AI analyzes how quickly humidity and temperature change in each room, then adjusts activation thresholds to match each space's specific characteristics.
  • Anticipating demand: rather than waiting for the environment to deteriorate, a short-term load forecasting algorithm fires up devices early when more occupants are arriving or outdoor humidity is rising, sustaining comfort without any gaps.

The result: this orchestration completely removes the “cold but still damp” sensation typical of conventional AC, replacing it with a dry, clean living space sustained at the ideal temperature, automatically and reliably.
